Tips
Healthy adults should get at least 2.5 hours of moderate intensity activity per week.
Eat 5 - 6 small meals a day to keep insulin levels steady and speed up your metabolism.
Eat breakfast! “Break” the “fast” you’ve been on all night and eat a healthy breakfast to kick start your day!
Have your more hearty meals for breakfast and/or lunch to reduce late night eating.
Drink up to a gallon of water a day. Water is the best way to keep you hydrated and your metabolism going. It also helps move food and fluids throughout the body.
Limit coffee, caffeine, soda, fruit juices. Add Crystal Light to your water or drink green tea. This can help curb your appetite!
Limit alcohol. Choose red wine which contain antioxidants.
Choose Splenda or Stevia for a sugar substitution.
Replace white breads and pastas with whole wheat/whole grain ones.
Eat spinach or baby spring mix instead of iceberg lettuce for more nutrients.
Choose raw or organic fruits, vegs and foods. Avoid processed, canned or frozen foods which can be loaded with sodium and sugar.
Taking a good multi-vitamin can help supplement some of the nutrients your body misses.
Make sure to get 7 -8 hours of sleep.
Avoid cutting calories under 1,200 or skipping meals. This can shut down your metabolism and actually cause you to gain weight.
Get annual and regular doctor check-ups.
